there are messages and emails circulated that claim that yahoo and AOL will donate 1 cent per each email sent. There often refer to people alleged to need private medical treatment, etc and the message encourage people to send an avalanche of emails to everybody they know as this is alleged to be for a good cause, go make yaho and Aol donate the money as per the alleged agreement.
I know this to be untrue but I am not aware of any place where YAHOO make this statement. If I ever reply to such messages explaining what I know to be truue, people ask “well how do you know this, where does Yahoo say that?”
It would help if I could point people in the right direction

This is nothing but spam. Another chain letter that is a total waste of your time and energy.
Why are you still accepting them? Ask ALL of your contacts not to send them to you anymore. Then if you do get one, you can delete it straight into oblivion! (BTW, NO one has the ability to track if or how many E-mails you send or forward. If no one can track them then how would anyone possibly get paid!?!?!)

And for your E-mail safety, remember:
Do not ever open E-mail from people you do not know; and unless you are absolutely sure who it is from then treat them as spam.
Opening spam alerts the sender that your address is a valid one and they send you loads and loads more of it to you.
Never, ever give out your personal information to anyone, for any reason, whether by E-mail, snail mail, phone call, or at your front door.
And do not ever send money, checks or money orders to; or cash checks, money orders for any one – ever.
