Cent Shield
Spiritually speaking, would it be irresponsible for a parent to shield their child from all opposing ideas?
‘Ideas’ can mean anything from religion to personal ideals, etc.
In my eyes, you cannot shelter a child forever. If you blind them to ‘bad’ or ‘different’ things in life, and then release them as adults, it will all come crashing down. Just my own two cents.

You bet it is. I was raised like that, and wish that my family had been secure enough to allow me to ask questions about different viewpoints. I’m now in the process of adopting three teenagers, and I am very supportive of their learning about a wide variety of viewpoints. I feel that thwarting a child’s intellectual curiosity and exploration is a form of abuse.
