One of the biggest mistakes that people make when starting an online business is that they want to study everything. They want to know everything before they start their online business. Back in the 90s there were no experts. So I just did the best I could do with what I had. I used the browsers html composer.
As I was learning html code, I would view the source of something that I wanted to learn. Then I’d paste into notepad and examine it. I got that idea from Yanik Silver. I would make minor changes and that is how I learned to bold text. I think the best thing that someone can do is just make changes as you go. When you read an ebook, make the application right there on the spot as you go. Use that as your guide.
I learned this through the Yanik Silver blog. Cash isn’t made from absorbing knowledge; it is made by putting things into working action. Take what you know and go out and do something. Or else you’ll never get starting doing something. Emails and ebooks can secure us down. If you can’t bring into play an action, you’ll never get started.
Take a piece of paper and write things down as a goal. Learn stuff piece by piece then put in to action. You’re not going to get things done perfectly the first time either.
We can all learn from our mistakes. I left one up to remind me where I came from. It’s funny when you look at it. You’ll always have things to do with your online business. Don’t look forward to getting thing done flawlessly either. Get a domain name, start a blog and start putting things into action.
I see this mistake time and time again. It’s one of those things that you can say time after time. The best thing is when someone reads something; they say yes to it and get started with some kind of project.
I have been working online for about 13 years now. Looking back on my career the most powerful impact that I had was when I said and actually did something.
Go out and find someone that you can talk to about your online adventures. Accountability is what you are looking for. It doesn’t matter where they are from just do long as they have the same passions that you have. I enjoy sharing ideas and feedback with others. I worked all by myself for a quite a while before I had someone come into my life.
It’s very easy to give up if you don’t have someone that you are answerable to. I was able to get more things done talking with someone. Those are just my thoughts when it comes to starting your own online business.
