Botanic Garden
How good is Singapore’s Botanic gardens?
Being tropical, is there a lot of colour at the Botanic gardens and are they well worth a visit as a touristy thing to do? I see that they are open till late at night – are they well enough lit that nightime, being cooler, is a good time to visit?

It has been voted as the best urban garden in the world, when I visited it many times last year. At night its dim, but well lit to walk around. The Orchid Garden closes by 6pm, so be there early to catch it! Its nice to walk around. It is huge, so it’ll take about 2 hours, and you can have lunch in one of the many wonderful eating places, recommended Halia Restaurant in the Ginger Garden.
April/May are thunderstorm months. December – February the rainy months. June/July/September high humidity and heat effect.
