Grand Teton National Park Noted For Its Stunning Mountain Vistas

Grand Teton NP is US National Park situated in northwestern Wyoming, US.

Grand Teton National Park comprises of around 310,000 acres of land and consists of some of the most important mountains of 40-mile Teton Range and most of northern section of Valley called Jackson Hole. Approximately 10 miles Yellowstone National Park south, two parks are associated with the NP service administered by John D. Rockefeller and Jr. Memorial Parkway.

The three cosseted regions in combination with neighboring National Forests compose of one of the biggest intact mid latitude temperature ecosystems in the world called Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, which is around 18,000,000 acres. Grand Teton rises unexpectedly over 7000 feet, at 13,775 feet and around 850 feet taller as compared to Mount Owen, the 2nd tallest mountain in the range.

To the north of Jackson Hole, Yellowstone National Park had been established in 1872 and by late 19th century, conversationalists worked to provide further protection to surrounding regions, leading US President Grover Cleveland to create the Teton Forest Reserve. To Jackson Lake Lodge’s east, you will find Two Ocean Lakes and Emma Matilda, while on the Jackson Lake’s south are Phelps, Leigh, Taggart, Jenny and Bradley lakes.

Grand Teton NP and areas adjacent to it host over 1000 species of vascular plants such as Whitebark Pine, Limber Pine, Subalpine fir, Engelmann Spruce, Lodgepole Pine, Douglas Fir and Blue Spruce along with aspens, cottonwoods, alders and willows. The Grand Teton’s fauna are pine marten, Red Squirrel, black bear, along with moose, elk and wolves.

Grand Tetons Wyoming is situated in the center of Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, one of the biggest and only intact temperature ecosystems left on the earth.

In Grand Teton, there are 22 species of rodents, including Yellow-Bellied Marmot, Least Chipmunk, Muskrat, Red Squirrel, and Uinta Ground Squirrel, 5 species of Amphibians: Spotted Frog, Boreal Chorus Frog, Boreal Toad, Tiger Salamander, Northern Leopard Frog and Bullfrog, 300+ species of birds, including Bald Eagle, Calliope Hummingbird, Golden Eagle, Osprey, Sage Grouse, Trumpeter Swan, Western Tanager, 6 species of bats, 17 species of carnivores, including Grizzly and Black Bear, Mountain Lion, Wolf and Coyote, 4 species of reptiles: Wandering Garter Snake, Valley Garter Snake, Rubber Boa, and Northern Sagebrush Lizard, 16 species of fishes, including Yellowstone cutthroat trout, Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat trout, Mountain sucker, Utah chub, and Mountain whitefish, Numerous invertebrates, 3 species of rabbits/hares and 6 species of hoofed mammals, including American Bison, Moose, Pronghorn, elk, and Mule Deer.

You will plenty of sights and attractions in Grand Teton including Gunfight, Oxbow Bend, Vista Grande Restaurant, National Elk Refuge, Boat Rentals, Raft Trips, Cascade Canyon and Lake Solitude, Rendezvous Peak Tramway, Snow King Mountain Chair Lift and Horseback Riding.
