Bicentennial Dollar
1976 american revolution bicentennial gold coin is it real gold?

i have a 1776 to 1976 american revolution bicentennial coin i scratched the side about half a centimeter deep and it stayed a gold color. it is 25.5 grams. is it real gold? and if so how much could i sell 25.5 grams of gold for?(that’s the Weight of the coin) it doesn’t stick to a magnet neither. i know the face value of the coin if 600-800 dollars.. but seeing as gold is going for $43.47 an gram i would think it would sell more in gold weight. they are also medals made of this same coin that looks the same how do i know it isn’t that one and it is the gold one THANK YOU AND BEST ANSWER GETS THE BEST ANSWER THING LOL

It’s 90% gold and you have destroyed any collector value so melt weight is all you have. Selling it for weight will probably lose another 20% value.
Melt weight $450-500
