I have a 1956 Roosevelt Dime Graded Proof 66 by NGC, How much is this coin worth?
I’m just wondering what I might be able to sell this coin for? The coin again is a 1956 Roosevelt Dime graded Proof 66 by NGC. The coin is beautiful!! Thanks!!!
If it’s just a proof, that’s the lowest of the three levels, and you probably won’t get more than $10.
The three levels are Proof, Cameo and Ultra Cameo. NGC-graded coins generally sell for a bit less than PCGS coins. To illustrate this, the PCGS guide for a PR67 Cameo is $70. An NGC PF67 Cameo sold at eBay for $36 w/free shipping, so the seller netted about $30 after shipping and fees.
No grade 66 have sold recently for comparison, but a PCGS PR66 is valued at $20. It would probably sell close to $15, and the NGC closer to $10.
There are still quite a few unopened 1956 proof sets out there, and the ones that do get busted will be yielding mostly examples without the CAM or UCAM designation. That’s not going to help the future value of ‘plain’ proofs at the 66 level.
