What is the perfect size ratio when editing pictures? Or what size works best for reprints in any size?

I’ve just started taking photos for people as a hobby and want to know what size I should edit them to, for ease of printing for them. So they don’t have to worry about the quality/resolution when they go to print any size.

I do professional photography as a living and find 4:6 as a good size to crop the picture into, but there is no “perfect” size ratio. As far as your quality/resolution issues go that is not a matter for the ratio but a combination as to how much you are cutting off in the picture, and how many mega pixels you have, and unless your going to print like 20×30 or billboards I stick with about 7.
